Community guidelines
Acaso is for meeting people when you are new somewhere. These are the few rules that keep it good. They are part of the terms of use.
Be who you say you are
One account, your real first name, a photo of your face. Pretending to be someone else, or to be more than one person, gets the account removed.
Show up
If you join a plan, come, or leave it in the app in time. A small plan is a few people; an empty place changes the evening for the rest. Say so in the chat if you are running late.
Friends first
Acaso is for making friends in a new city. If two people hit it off, that is theirs. But nobody here signed up to be hit on: comments about anyone's looks, chat-up lines and pushing after a no do not belong in chats or at plans. If someone tells you they are not interested, that is the end of it.
Be kind to people you have just met
Everyone at a plan was new here once. No harassment, no slurs, no jokes at someone's expense, no pressure to drink, no politics or religion used as a weapon. Disagree gently or change the subject.
Nothing for sale
No selling, promoting, recruiting, fundraising or job-hunting in profiles, plans or chats. Post a plan because you want to do it, not because you want customers.
Privacy is everyone's
Do not share other people's numbers, photos, addresses or messages outside Acaso. Ask before you post a photo of the people you are with. Keep phone numbers out of plans and your bio; share yours in a chat if you want to.
Report, block, leave
Report anyone from their profile, a message (hold it) or a plan, and report something that happened at a meetup from the plan once it is over. Reporting blocks them for you at once, and the person reported is never told who reported them. Block to never see each other again. Leave any chat or plan whenever you want, and a host can take someone out of their plan. If you are in danger, call the emergency services first.
Someone reported for something serious by a person they have met on Acaso, or reported by more than one person, is paused automatically. Serious means threats or violence, sexual harassment, a scam or someone under 18; met on Acaso means a plan, a chat or a direct message. A paused account is hidden from everyone until we have looked at it. Some things are refused before they are posted at all: threats, sexual content, slurs, contact details in a first message, a phone number in a plan or a bio. Serious or repeated behaviour ends an account.
If your account is paused
The app tells you why. If you think it is a mistake, email hello@acaso.place and we will look again.
